Bella Tahoe catered my wedding at Vallhalla, South Lake Tahoe and it was incredible! The food was everything I expected and more. The food presentation was first class (I call it foofoo food). We were extremely fortunate to find Candace and her fantastic chefs to cater our daughter and son-in-law's post-wedding brunch on Regan Beach this summer.

The food was delicious and served piping hot. The coffee and mimosas kept flowing. They literally took care of everything for us - from complete setup to teardown. They arranged for the tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, china, and glassware. Brunch included waffle bar, bacon and sausage, homemade pastries (which were out of this world), coffee, and mimosas. We had Candace cater and coordinate our wedding over Labor day weekend and we recommend her 100%.

I'll start by mentioning that I have heard from numerous guests (even unlikely ones) that the chicken was the best they have ever had! We've been to many weddings and usually you come to expect the food to be par with a buffet style dinner, but Candace and her team really set the bar high with the quality and taste of the dishes! It was so comforting to hear this feedback from our guests! We also had Candace be our day of coordinator. At first we were sceptical not knowing how the caterer could handle a duel role but she really stepped up and nailed it. As you know weddings are stressful and expectations and stress run high and Candace was by our side calmly the whole day despite high emotions. A true professional in both roles! Candace's team was also very professional and did an excellent job of breaking down the event after the night was over which made it a real snap the next day to haul everything away. Fantastic chef prepared dinner at our rental for a friend's Bachelorette.

Catered to our many dietary restrictions, delicious. Chef James was fun, attentive and prepared a great meal. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a group meal in the comfort of their home. I know it's difficult to be a successful small business owner. This business deserves recognition.I had no one who could recommend a good personal chef/caterer for a dinner party of 20 I was planning for my spouse in south lake tahoe. I live hundreds of miles away so I began searching the internet for the right person to serve up a hearty meal at a fair price. I communicated with many before I discovered Bella Tahoe Catering.

Candance delivered above and beyond my expectations.

Our dinner arrived ON TIME, with a smile and her food was cooked to PERFECTION--there are no other words than delicious & amazing! If you want good food & don't know who to use in South Lake Tahoe, call this gal...she's a winner! ~C.G. 

Candace "Bella Tahoe" catered my wedding and I also hired Candace as my day of coordinator.

Let me begin by saying I went into the realm of wedding vendors with eyes wide open, well aware of the hustle and general ridiculousness regarding prices and stipulations. Initially, I went through my entire suggested catering list via my venue, I emailed all of them, I spoke to at least 7 and met with 2. I was definitely disenchanted with the meetings, emails and phone calls – so far I had yet to talk to Candace. The caterers I had communicated with at this point all came across to me as insincere and unaccommodating and/or strings attached business ethic. For instance, one caterer told me that if I didn't hire them to also make my wedding cake that I would be charged to bring in an outside cake, plus charged a dollar per cake slice cut. Yeah, stupid and the exact kind of BS I was avoiding. So basically this particular catering company was trying to strong arm me into using them for everything. Needless to say I don't take well to this type of coercion.

Long story short –  Candace was THE ONLY caterer that I communicated with that was willing to totally work with me, in terms of needs, what I had, what I was working with and most importantly what I wanted. She truly worked with me and on a reasonable budget. She never once tried to up sell me – which is so friggin’ common in the world of weddings. I never felt pressured, and she was able to incorporate the things I wanted within my budget.

I knew the moment I spoke with Candace on the phone, must be intuition, she was just an honest, no BS, CAN- DO kind of girl. She just has a genuineness that comes across, oppose to many of the other catering companies I spoke with that had to "put on" this totally insincere artificial sugary sweet voice. She spoke to me like we knew each other already, totally straightforward, skip the rigmarole, and I reaalllly truulllly appreciated that.

The food – The food was excellent! I had so many guests and friends of my husbands commenting on how great the food was, and still are! Another plus -Candace was able to make a family recipe (Greek) I asked for. I know first hand that if it had been any other caterer I never would have been able to incorporate traditions, and family recipes, without having to sell my soul to afford it.

I did not realize how much I would value and rely on Candace, not only as my caterer and Day Of Coordinator, but just in general she was able to be a soundboard, a consultant, and friend. She definitely was able to give me more than was in her job description, and literally helped me or steered me in the right direction with anything I threw her way (things that at times had nothing to do with Day of coordinating or catering). This was a destination wedding for me, and she went above and beyond to answer the most random questions or conundrums. She is just a straight up nice person, who will help if and when she can. I think what really sets her apart is that she has empathy, she clearly knows the stress, the frustration and ridiculousness of wedding planning; which is why you are going to get someone who truly wants to see her clients happy, wants to do the best she can, and will subsequently do the best she can.

I contacted Candace after looking for a caterer to do a small dinner party for my son-in-law's 30th birthday.

I wanted a hands-on dinner as he loves to cook and we thought it would be more fun to prepare some dishes with the Chef and make it a cooking class as well for our small group of 8. Candace and I worked on a menu that would be special for my son-in-law, including home made ravioli as a starter and a chocolate lava cake for dessert! Unfortunately, Candace was unable to be our Chef, but she sent her executive Chef Ryan in her place which was fabulous! We had a good time with Ryan and all participated in preparing the dinner which was exactly what I had in mind. The food was great and while we were eating our meal, Ryan was cleaning up! By the time we finished, it was time for Ryan to leave and the kitchen was clean except for the few things left on the table after dessert! I would highly recommend Bella Tahoe and hope to do the same thing again for another family member's birthday next year!!! ~Laura R.

We got married in Kirkwood and live out of town, so we actually never met her or tasted her food until our wedding day (there was a short time during the planning process of being a tad nervous about that). Everything turned out perfectly and the food was delicious. The guests and other vendors there were raving. I feel like what I wanted was a little out of the norm and Candace was more than happy to create my vision. Instead of having the staple wedding menu, we wanted all sorts of different foods that we love. Some were passed, some were buffet. We hired a bartender through her who did a great job making our cocktails (and also poured beer and wine). She was professional, easy to work with and prompt with emails. We were putting together a conference in Tahoe city, 400miles from our home base. While looking for activities I ran across Bella Tahoe catering’s website and what a blessing it was.

After talking to Candace I booked a cooking class as an optional activity along with the other many things there are to do in Tahoe city. Candace was so helpful and no matter what obstacle I threw at her she never got rattled and always came up with a workable solution. Our class swelled to double her normal size, no problem she hired more instructors and rotated the students. The logistics to transport our group to her kitchen became too expensive and time consuming, no problem she brought a portable kitchen and all her instructors to us; we were having trouble finding a local winery to pair with her dishes no problem, Candace to the rescue and the list goes on... And going above and beyond we couldn’t find a band for one of our evening events but again Candace came through. She sent me a list of several bands she knew and we found the perfect one for our group.

Now, with respect to the cooking class itself, wow. Everyone that attended had great things to say; “great techniques”, “made the process fun”, “the food was terrific”, “the time flew by”, and “I’ll make these dishes at home” were just a few of the comments. Given the chance, I would sign up Bella Tahoe Catering and Candace as quick as I could if I were planning another cooking or catering event in the Tahoe area. Candace you have my thanks! ~Ron N.
